“Our children joined the 4-week IELTS program this summer with the hope of experiencing a new culture, enjoying nature, and improving their English skills at the same time. As it was their first time studying for the IELTS, our main goal was for them to become familiar with the test format and strengthen their writing and speaking skills. With five intensive classes a day, they quickly grew more confident and engaged in their studies. As a full-time working parent, I truly appreciated the school’s support—especially the transportation services and the option of Japanese lunches. These thoughtful arrangements allowed us to feel completely at ease throughout their stay. During the final week, the children had the chance to explore Davao City with their teachers, learning about local history, the stories of Japanese immigrants, and Filipino culture through meaningful fieldwork. Back at school, they wrote essays based on what they had seen and learned. This experience became an exciting “mini-adventure,” and they still talk about it enthusiastically even after returning home. On weekends, they enjoyed snorkeling around Samal Island, discovering the beauty of coral reefs and the richness of nature. Davao itself felt very safe, welcoming, and wonderfully green. With fresh seafood, delicious fruits, and kind people, it became a place that I, too, hope to visit again. It was truly an unforgettable summer—one where learning, growth, and adventure came together naturally. We are grateful for the school’s warm support and the opportunities it provided for our children to broaden their horizons and deepen their love for learning."

“I really like my classes in DLA, especially the classes and environment. All my classes were only one on one with my teachers, so i got great classes depending on my English level. Also all my classes were so fun, because all my teachers were so friendly and considering my English study so much. In the environment, I'd like to say just amazing. On weekends, Nieves always took us to many places in Davao, and we could experience so many activities with local people. I say definitely my experience in Davao was really helpful for me after that, especially when i studied in Canada for a year."

“This was the first stay in Philippines and foreign country more than a week. I studied at DLA for three weeks. In fact, I did not expect how great this program is before i visit DLA. My teacher was one intelligent woman who are about to be an announcer and she spoke very fluent English, so i think my English speaking skill were improved (the other skills also). At weekend, teachers took us to beautiful beach and swam. I experienced lots of things, so i cannot mention all here, but I enjoyed karaoke with my teachers and friends the most, maybe. Teachers taught us not only English but also Philippines culture like current situation in Philippines, law, government, food, climate, etc. (When i asked them, they replied to my question immediately cuz they are so friendly). I was to improve my English skills such as speaking, writing, listening and reading. There are a lot of shops near. I bought almost anything i needed. I used to go beach in weekends.
